Cotorsion pairs and model categories

Description

A cotorsion pair in an abelian category is a pair of subcategories which are orthogonal to each other with respect to the Ext functor. Cotorsion pairs are strongly related to approximations in abelian categories, in a way that resembles fibrant and cofibrant approximations in model categories. This project aims at the connection between cotorsion pairs and Quillen’s model categories.
